To undertake, manage and co-ordinate test programmes in the Fire Detection and Electronics Testing Business Group. Take responsibility for test programmes from the receipt of samples and/or compiling the test schedule through to the publication of the test report. Liaise with customers on technical issues, update customers with regular testing plans and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

Responsibility for health and safety processes and procedures, liaising with the Laboratory Manager and BRE health and Safety Group as appropriate.

Senior Consultant - BREEAM (San Francisco)

Business Systems Manager

BRE operates on annual revenues of £50m, secured through the provision of a complete range of advisory, testing, certification, commissioned research, digital products and training services, covering all aspects of the built environment and associated industries.  Globally active, with approximately 600 employees, it has a physical presence in the UK, the Republic of Ireland and China and Innovation Parks (where we showcase the outputs of our innovative industry and academic collaborations) in the UK and China.

As part of our future systems strategy, we are searching for an experienced Business Systems Manager to lead and take ownership of the day to day business systems strategy, creation and maintenance of solution architecture for internal business systems and to ensure that the right software tools are available across the business to support management information, reporting and business delivery. The role will help to set strategies for the successful delivery of business systems across BRE and for the management of demand for system changes and the addition of new systems.

The role will also be responsible for shaping a small team to include business systems and system design analysts to ensure BRE’s business systems and business processes are aligned and that systems are integrated, optimised and provide ‘value’ across BRE.

Net Zero Performance Specialist

 

Why is this role key to our business? 
The BREEAM portfolio of schemes is globally applicable; offering sustainability assessment and certification across the built environment.  They draw together much of BRE’s work and have a reputation in numerous sectors, across a range of lifecycles, for providing trusted verification and benchmarking of an assets performance.
We have an excellent opportunity for a net zero carbon, data focused guru to drive the technical, and influence the commercial development of the BREEAM product portfolio.
With a background in public and commercial building physics, service engineering and/or performance modelling, the successful candidate will be the divisions go-to-expert for net zero benchmarking and insight.  Although predominantly scopes 1-3 related carbon emissions to begin with, but also considering other GHG and resource uses (e.g. water, waste) over time.
This is a technical and creative role, focusing on the methodological design, data capture and clear communication of the consequential performance benchmarking. It requires close collaboration with the BREEAM Senior Management, Core Technical and Product Management Teams.   It also includes substantive engagement with industry, the quality management of digital specifications, as well as individual pace, energy and an eye for detail.
Through this remit they will ensure that the product portfolio remains relevant to specifiers and customers on the race to net zero, and will have a leading role in its development, operation, uptake and therefore impact on our environment, society and economy.

Statistician - Housing & Health

The Housing and Health team provide modelled indicators of house condition, health impact of homes, energy efficiency and households in fuel poverty, predominantly to Local Authority customers. BIM Data Deployment Engineer

***Initial 18-24 month fixed term contract***

We have an exciting new role for an BIM Data Deployment Engineer to join our Digital Construction team. Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a key focus for BRE and for the Construction Innovation Hub programme. Key to the delivery of BIM is the requirement for structured data. As such, we are seeking to employ a knowledgeable BIM engineer with deployment experience and an interest in  data science to aid with the definitions of UK construction data standards, tools and demonstrator projects. These roles will work in a collaborative way with other multi-disciplinary colleagues across a range of projects.

This is a great opportunity for a BIM Data Deployment Engineer to work on leading edge research in the construction sector, working with a number of expert organisations across the country.

BRE is undertaking a major four-year R&D programme in the construction sector together with a consortium of partners and stakeholders. This is to deliver the Construction Innovation Hub  focusing on developing offsite construction, digital technologies and processes, supported by a £72m grant from UKRI (https://constructioninnovationhub.org.uk). The work of the Hub will continue beyond the period of this grant.
