Research Engineer - Assurance and Compliance

BRE is undertaking a major four-year R&D programme in the construction sector together with a consortium of partners and stakeholders, focusing on offsite construction and digital technologies and processes. A key element will be to lead research into multi-disciplinary assessments of construction products.

This exciting new role is for a research engineer to lead and coordinate research regarding the testing, assessment and certification of construction products, particularly those related to innovation in modern methods of construction, as well as new methodologies and standards covering the whole life cycle of assets in construction.  Reporting to the Assurance & Compliance workstream lead, you will also work with a number of technical and engineering specialists within BRE and partners across the UK regarding the wider programme.

Research Engineer - Financial Metrics

BRE is undertaking a major four-year R&D programme in the construction sector together with a consortium of partners and stakeholders, supported by a £72m grant from UKRI. This is to deliver the Construction Innovation Hub (CIH), which mission is to be a catalyst for transforming the UK construction sector through manufacturing technologies and digital ways of working, boosting productivity, exports and asset performance to benefit the society.

A major element of this programme will be the development and management of key performance indicators (KPIs), methods, tools and benchmarks. These will cover a range of different leading and lagging indicators, including those that measure the economic, social and environmental impact of buildings and infrastructure across their whole life cycle (pre-design, design, construction, operation and end of life or re-purposing).

This role will provide research support to the Whole Life Value workstream in the delivery of its overall strategy. The individual will use his/her skills to research and develop this suite of indicators, measurement tools, data strategy and applications, focusing on Financial aspects. You will work closely with many stakeholders and delivery partners across the UK to develop compelling, well-thought-out recommendations.

International Lead Auditor - Subcontractor

The Assessment Services team within BRE Global Ltd is a leading provider of 9001 / 14001 / 45001 / 50001, Factory Production Control (FPC) and energy management system standards auditing. Providing services to clients globally, and with expertise in building systems and construction products. Due to rapidly growing demand we have an exciting opportunity for the right individual to join our successful and expanding auditing business.

We are currently looking to recruit experienced lead auditors to join us as subcontractors. The candidates will hold the relevant qualifications (preferably IRCA, EMS / QMS registered), ideally be from a Quality, Environmental, Manufacturing or Health & Safety Management Systems background, with a Lead Auditor qualification in ISO 9001 and ideally ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 and/or ISO 50001. Experience in auditing the manufacture of electronics, fire, security, construction products or sustainability on behalf of Certification Bodies would be an advantage.

Building Control Manager

We have an exciting new role for a Building Control Manager to support projects focused on digital compliance and regulations, with the emphasis placed on strong capability to support digital transformation of traditional working procedures. As such, we are seeking to employ a senior building control manager with an extensive background of providing advice and solutions to meet building standards and regulations in a proactive and collaborative way with other multi-disciplinary colleagues across a range of projects. You will join us with a recognised professional qualification in Building Control (RICS, CABE, CIOB). The role offers you the opportunity to utilise your digital capabilities and extensive professional judgement to interpret the regulations and associated technical guidance into digitised compliance and standards. Customer Success BIM Data Engineer

Overview of Role

 

We have an exciting new role for a Customer Success BIM Data Engineer. Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a key focus for BRE and for the Construction Innovation Hub programme. Key to the delivery of BIM is the requirement for structured data. As such, we are seeking to employ a BIM knowledgeable engineer with a data science background to aid with the definitions of UK construction data standards, tools and demonstrator projects. These roles will work in a collaborative way with other multi-disciplinary colleagues across a range of projects.
