Key Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager role:

  • Identify new customer targets through – news, market research, strategic market assessment, business contacts, networking, new product releases, etc.
  • Target, develop and execute tailored plans for customer and projects
  • Increasing the value of current customers while attracting new ones.
  • Finding and developing new markets and improving sales.
  • Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events.
  • Identify, develop, manage and maintain customer database for business development, and ensure CRM is up-to-date

Software Deployment Engineer

***18 Month Fixed Term Contract***

We have an exciting new role for a Software Deployment Engineer to join our Digital Construction team. Digital products are increasingly playing a key role in the transformation of the built environment and are a key focus for BRE and for the Construction Innovation Hub programme. As such, we are seeking to employ a knowledgeable software deployment engineer with an interest in data science and/or Building Information Modelling (BIM) to aid in the development and deployment of digital products to support UK construction data standards, tools and demonstrator projects.

This is a great opportunity for a Software Deployment Engineer to both work on leading edge digital tool development within the construction sector and support several expert organisations across the country; working collaboratively to support key clients and other multi-disciplinary colleagues across the programme.

BRE is undertaking a major four-year R&D programme in the construction sector together with a consortium of partners and stakeholders. This is to deliver the Construction Innovation Hub  focusing on developing offsite construction, digital technologies and processes, supported by a £72m grant from UKRI (https://constructioninnovationhub.org.uk).

Product Audit Administrator

Fire Resistance Laboratory Technician

The Role:

We're looking for 2 Fire Resistance Laboratory Technicians to join the Passive Fire Protection group of BRE Global.

The role involves working collaboratively and flexibly amongst a wider team of Technicians and Test Engineers to provide the full range of activities required for the preparation of and conducting of fire resistance tests.

BRE test on a wide range of building and marine elements such as fire doors, walls/partitions, protection on structural steelwork, dampers and ducts etc to British, European and marine standards.

The Technician activities include installation of constructional elements onto the furnace test frames and loading of furnaces, installation and set-up of instrumentation such as thermocouples and transducers, maintenance of equipment, off-loading/loading deliveries plus many more tasks to support our Test Engineers and ensure we provide a first class testing service to our clients.

We are searching for an established and experienced concrete technician to take ownership of the day to day running of our concrete lab as well as the management and scheduling of testing. The work will involve a mixture of direct commercial testing of fresh and hardened concrete and research-based work programmes (commercial and grant funded). This is a hands-on role with the potential to identify and implement improvements to the way we work.

The successful candidate will have undertaken a degree or a postgraduate research degree in fire or structural engineering disciplines. Job Purpose of Consultant

To undertake, manage and co-ordinate test programmes in the Fire Detection and Electronics Testing Business Group. Take responsibility for test programmes from the receipt of samples and/or compiling the test schedule through to the publication of the test report. Liaise with customers on technical issues, update customers with regular testing plans and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

Responsibility for health and safety processes and procedures, liaising with the Laboratory Manager and BRE health and Safety Group as appropriate.
