International Lead Auditor - Subcontractor

The Assessment Services team within BRE Global Ltd is a leading provider of 9001 / 14001 / 45001 / 50001, Factory Production Control (FPC) and energy management system standards auditing. Providing services to clients globally, and with expertise in building systems and construction products. Due to rapidly growing demand we have an exciting opportunity for the right individual to join our successful and expanding auditing business.

We are currently looking to recruit experienced lead auditors to join us as subcontractors. The candidates will hold the relevant qualifications (preferably IRCA, EMS / QMS registered), ideally be from a Quality, Environmental, Manufacturing or Health & Safety Management Systems background, with a Lead Auditor qualification in ISO 9001 and ideally ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 and/or ISO 50001. Fire Resistance Laboratory Technician

The role consists of working within a team of Technicians and Test Engineers to provide the full range of activities required for preparation of and conducting fire resistance tests on a wide range of building and marine elements such as fire doors, walls/partitions, protection on structural steelwork, dampers and ducts etc. to British, European and marine standards. The Technician activities include installation of constructional elements onto the furnace test frames and loading of furnaces, installation and set-up of instrumentation such as thermocouples and transducers, maintenance of equipment, off-loading/loading deliveries etc. plus many more processes supporting our Test Engineers to ensure we provide a first class testing service to our clients.

BIM Research Engineer

The Construction Innovation Hub is a government-funded programme on a mission to transform the UK construction industry.  Combining the world-class expertise of the BRE (Building Research Establishment), the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) and the University of Cambridge’s Centre for Digital Built Britain (CDBB), the Hub wants to change the way our buildings and infrastructure are designed, manufactured and connected within our built environment by embracing modern methods of construction and digital ways of working.

Key to the delivery of BIM is the requirement for structured data. We have an exciting new role for a Senior Building Control Manager to support projects focused on digital compliance and regulations, with the emphasis placed on strong capability to support digital transformation of traditional working procedures. As such, we are seeking to employ a senior building control manager with an extensive background of providing advice and solutions to meet building standards and regulations in a proactive and collaborative way with other multi-disciplinary colleagues across a range of projects. You will join us with a recognised professional qualification in Building Control (RICS, CABE, CIOB). BRE is undertaking a major four year R&D programme in the construction sector together with an alliance of partners and stakeholders. This is to deliver the Construction Innovation Hub (The Hub) focusing on offsite construction and digital technologies and processes, supported by a £72m grant from UKRI (https://transformingconstruction.org.uk/). The work of the HUB will continue beyond the period of this grant.

This exciting new role is for an Information Management Lead to lead and coordinate research including areas such as BIM and information management, construction product data, digitised building regulations and data assurance. Reporting to the Programme Lead, you will also work closely with our partners, the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) and Centre for Digital Built Britain (CDBB) regarding the wider programme.

Estates, Health and Safety Compliance Manager

BRE’s Estates, Health & Safety Team (EHS) provide support to everyone working at BRE across the main head office site in Watford as well as other sites across the UK and internationally. We are looking for a forward-thinking, solution-orientated, and detailed Compliance Manager who can take ownership of all EHS related compliance activity and ensure adherence to relevant legislation, regulations and internal policies and processes.

Currently we are a small, busy team who work across a diverse range of EHS activities. This role specifically, will be focused on ensuring processes are in place to ensure compliance with certified management systems (ISO 9001 / 45001 / 18001 / 14001) and ensuring activities relating to certifications and audits are conducted effectively, working closely with our colleagues in the Compliance Team
